War and Social Trauma in Ukraine and Its Impact on Eating Disorders

Ola Sushko will lead a discussion on the impact of the full-scale war in Ukraine on eating disorders in adults and adolescents.

The beginning of the war in 2022 led not only to human losses. It also caused large waves of emigration and internal displacement of Ukrainian citizens and the separation of families. All this, as well as other external factors, influenced and continue to influence the eating behavior patterns of various population groups. This presentation is dedicated to this impact.

Olga is a clinical psychologist, schema therapist, co-founder of the Ukrainian Association of Eating Disorders, and head of the ED treatment centre “b-center”. She currently lives and works in the Netherlands.
